Motion Tracking Applications in the Commercial Market

3D Motion Tracking in the Scientific and Industrial MarketsIf it moves, we can track it!
Polhemus tracking systems are used
to track the masses…such as measurement of a golf swing, the fingers of a piano player, the motion of an Olympic weightlifter, and goggles/ hands in a Virtual Reality application, just to name a few.

Polhemus has been providing Motion Tracking technology to the commercial market since 1970. With great success, Polhemus has worked with partners and customers to integrate our motion tracking systems to their application needs, sometimes requiring customization. Whatever your motion tracking need is, Polhemus can meet it!

If you are looking for the most advanced real-time motion capture solution Polhemus provides an array of motion tracking products to meet or exceed the requirements of your application. The Polhemus family of 3D motion trackers offers the fastest update rate, lowest latency and highest accuracy specifications in the industry.

Here are just a few examples of Polhemus Motion Tracking applications...
but keep in mind the possibilities are endless!

3D Scanning in the Commercial Market
FastSCANgoes everywhere you go! This unique, portable, 3D laser scanning system instantly acquires data and digitally renders in real-time. Free-form scanning provides the ability to freely move the lightweight handheld scanning wand around the object without being tethered to a mechanical arm.

FastSCAN has been taken on archaeological digs around the world, has been used to scan large statues in Italy, ornate woodworking pieces, and maquettes for part of the animation process. FastSCAN continues to be in television on the Discovery channel and in shows such as CSI:NY.

Easy as Spray Painting... 3D scanning used to require an engineering degree. Not with FastSCAN. In a matter of minutes a scan file can be created, edited, and ready for export to a variety of 3D modeling applications.
