How it Works

VIPER is a portable system that's easy to set up, using a source that emits an electromagnetic field. Finely tuned sensors within the magnetic field are tracked in full six degrees of freedom (6DOF), measuring both position and orientation motion at sub-millimeter accuracy.

Due to the nature of the technology, there is no line of sight requirement for continuous tracking. VIPER can track the movement of people and objects through clothes, walls, and in all lighting conditions.

Fly True Technology®

VIPER is equipped with Fly True Technology (FTT), a revolutionary, proprietary feature from Polhemus. FTT is a user selective data integrity tool that enables precise motion tracking in difficult tracking environments. To learn more about FTT, see our blog here.

VIPER provides flexible tracking capabilities, supporting up to 16 sensors. Available sensors vary in size, from catheter-insertable to person-tracking scales, offering options for many applications. The sensors ensure low latency and high-speed data accuracy, essential for leading electromagnetic tracking.
