What's in the box?

To get started, users will need to have a full VIPER tracking system with a source and appropriate sensor, as well as a Varjo XR-4 headset.

The complete VIPER XR-4 integration kit includes everything you need to get started:

1. VIPER XR-4 sensor mount

2. USB drive with VIPER XR-4 plugin

3. Cable management items (including clips and Velcro cable ties)

4. Polhemus XR-4 vinyl

How does it work?

The integration kit utilizes the features of our proprietary electromagnetic tracker through VIPER. Both position and orientation data are generated using a sensor immersed in a magnetic field created by the source - with no calibration necessary and no line of sight requirements. The VIPER XR-4 sensor mount locates the sensor on the headset and enables the tracker to detect head movements.

When using VIPER with the Varjo XR-4 Series, users must mount the source near the desired head motion box. It can be embedded or offset above, left, or right of the seat. We offer multiple different-sized magnetic sources for different areas of electromagnetic coverage, allowing users to leverage the best solution for their simulation experience.

What are the benefits?

Dynamic environments present a new layer to motion tracking challenges as they often involve changes in features such as lighting or movement. With electromagnetic motion tracking, the VIPER sensor mount locates the sensor on the headset and enables the tracker to detect head movements without a line of sight requirement.
